The Rio Fringe Clutch is made with threads spun from fibers of the sansevieria plant. Processed entirely by hand, the fiber is harvested, washed, dried in the sun, combed and then spun into threads with the help of a bicycle wheel. Only one cooperative of women remain in the Yucatan who still practice this age-old technique of spinning plant fibers into threads.
